A thumbprint-type cookie with a moist walnut filling.

Ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • For the filling:
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350F. Sift together dry ingredients. Cream brown sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Cream again. Add dry ingredients. Mix till blended. Form into 1 inch balls, make a depression in center, place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Mix together topping ingredients. Place topping in depressions. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
