A thumbprint-type cookie with a moist walnut filling.
Ingredients
- For the dough:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
- For the filling:
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup sour cream
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 350F. Sift together dry ingredients. Cream brown sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Cream again. Add dry ingredients. Mix till blended. Form into 1 inch balls, make a depression in center, place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Mix together topping ingredients. Place topping in depressions. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
