A chocolate/peanut butter Rice Krispie bar with peanuts* or chocolate chips. A copycat recipe of the classic retro Canadian candy bar.
Ingredients
3/4 cup honey
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1-1/2 cup mini marshmallows
3 cups rice krispies
1 cup salted peanuts* or additional chocolate chips (pictured: chocolate chips)
Directions
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt together the honey and peanut butter and bring to a boil. Stir in chocolate chips and marshmallows, stirring until melted and smooth. Add the cereal and peanuts if using. Blend well and remove from heat. Pour into a lightly greased 9×13-inch pan. If using additional chocolate chips instead of peanuts, sprinkle them over the top. Pat firmly with spatula. Let cool slightly and cut into bars before hardening.
Notes
- * To resemble an Eatmore bar, use peanuts and not chocolate chips. For the photo, mini chocolate chips were used. You can, of course, use both!
