Corn flakes coated with green-tinted marshmallow make a festive and convincing bouquet of holiday holly.

Makes about 12

1/2 cup butter
3 cups miniature marshmallows
1/2 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp green food color
4 cups corn flakes
red hot candies

Melt butter, add marshmallows, stirring until all marshmallows are melted. Add extracts and food coloring; stir until it is a uniform green color. When mixture is smooth, add corn flakes; mix well but gently so as not to crush the cornflakes. Form into 3" mounds on sheets of waxed paper, decorate with red cinnamon candies and silver dragées. Let cool.

Would make this again.
The trick to making them stick is keeping the mix on the heat and keep stirring till you put them directly on the waxed paper :) five stars

I love these! So colorful and tasty. I kept the hot candies out, though. I used red smarties in it's place. five stars

Would not make this again.
I made these 'cookies' and they were a complete failure. I have rechecked the recipe and I didn't leave anything out. They would NOT stick together. I thought after they cooled, maybe they would be stuck together. But they never did. They were just green piles that could not be picked up. I threw them in the garbage as I was planning on taking them to a party but knew no one could eat them without a spoon or fork...I also threw the recipe away.... one star

Excellent display and fun to do with kids of all ages. Try shaping them into wreaths, just a simple circle, and add more red hots for color, and so cute. Also Christmas trees. The kids even used red instead of green. We'll do this again and again and maybe experiment with other holidays. five stars
