Like a chocolate chip cookie, in bar form!

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter

  • 2-1/4 cups flour

  • 2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2-1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and set aside. In the microwave, melt the butter. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. In a large bowl using an electric mixer, beat butter and brown sugar. Slowly beat in the eggs and vanilla, mixing until batter is smooth. On low speed, gradually mix in the flour mixture. Batter will be very stiff. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Spread the batter in the baking pan, smoothing it into the corners. Bake 25 minutes or until the blondies begin pulling away from the sides of the pan. Let cool to room temperature in the pan on a wire rack, then cut into bars.

I have 6 kids and they all loved them. Yes...I left the nuts in the recipe..you HAVE to it makes these so perfect. I did think they could be a bit sweeter so next time I plan to add some butterscotch chips too. They baked so amazing and were easy to cut and serve.

Delicious!!! Merry Christmas. These are the very best!! Made them earlier -- Christmas Eve. I will definitely make these Chocolate Chip Blondies again. Very simple to make and when my traveling families get here later today, they will love them! A new Christmas baking tradition and for other times of the year, too! Thank you.

I followed the directions, but the center never seemed to get done. It was all gooey?

I didn't care for it thought it was way too sweet. I used chocolate chunks instead of morsels. It cracked when cut. (the top was like a cookie and underneath was like a brownie) My kids thought it was awesome. But it doesn't take much to please them and they did have fun helping me make it. But you could never serve it at holidays I was greatly disappointed with it
