A simple vanilla crackle cookie. Roll them in red and/or green sugar for a festive appearance!
Ingredients
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups butter flavor or golden Crisco
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
3 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
additional granulated sugar for dipping (white, red or green)
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 350 F. Mix sugars, shortening and eggs. Add vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Roll in walnut size balls and dip in sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Do not flatten. Bake 10-12 minutes.
