These are a crumbly melt-in-your-mouth little egg-shaped ball.

Ingredients

  • For the cookies:
  • 1 cup butter

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, unsifted

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups finely chopped nuts

  • For the glaze:
  • 1 cup powered sugar

  • 1 1/2 tablespoon water

  • Optional:
  • Melted chocolate

  • Garnishes (sprinkles, chopped nuts, flaked coconut, colored sugar, etc.)

Directions

  • For the cookies:
  • Pre-heat oven to 350 F. Cream the butter and sugar together thoroughly. Stir in flour and salt; then nuts; mix well. Form the stiff dough into egg shapes about 1-1/2 inches long. Bake about 15 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
  • For the glaze:
  • Combine powdered sugar and water and stir until smooth. If you need more water, go a few drops at a time until you have a smooth consistency.
  • To decorate:
  • Spread half of cookie with powdered sugar glaze or melted chocolate. If desired, sprinkle with sprinkles, coconut, chopped nuts, colored sugar. Let sit until glaze is dry.

I just made this cookies and they are wonderful! I love cookies made with powdered sugar - the texture is always great. These are simple cookies, yet truly yummy. I love them with the coconut!

I'm disappointed with this cookie. I followed the recipe but there's something wrong with the texture. I thought I did it wrong on the first batch so I made 3 more batches and all of them came so bad. It's so dry and crumbly :(
