These are a crumbly melt-in-your-mouth little egg-shaped ball.
Ingredients
- For the cookies:
1 cup butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar, unsifted
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups finely chopped nuts
- For the glaze:
1 cup powered sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon water
- Optional:
Melted chocolate
Garnishes (sprinkles, chopped nuts, flaked coconut, colored sugar, etc.)
Directions
- For the cookies:
- Pre-heat oven to 350 F. Cream the butter and sugar together thoroughly. Stir in flour and salt; then nuts; mix well. Form the stiff dough into egg shapes about 1-1/2 inches long. Bake about 15 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
- For the glaze:
- Combine powdered sugar and water and stir until smooth. If you need more water, go a few drops at a time until you have a smooth consistency.
- To decorate:
- Spread half of cookie with powdered sugar glaze or melted chocolate. If desired, sprinkle with sprinkles, coconut, chopped nuts, colored sugar. Let sit until glaze is dry.
