Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 400F. In large mixer bowl combine sugar, butter, egg, salt, and vanilla. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture is light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Add flour and food coloring, if using. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed, 2 to 3 minutes. Alternately, after mixing flour, divide dough into 2 or 3 portions and color each portion separately. Place dough in cookie press. Form desired shapes 1 inch apart on cookie sheets. If using, sprinkle with sprinkles, colored sugars, or top with glacé cherries. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are very lightly browned.

My first attempt with a cookie press. These made wonderful, delicious little holiday cookies. The only problem is I want them all year! Perfection!

Would make these again...just the right consistency for my cookie press! One thing I did do was beat it until it whipped, then put it in the fridge for a few moments. It made the cookies very light and tasty when baked.

Only change I made was Almond extract instead of Vanilla. Super easy. Super yummy!! Put some glaze on top with some sprinkles. So cute so fun to make! First time using my cookie press. Wow I've been missing out on some fun. Cannot wait to do it again!

Same recipe as my old one I use to use, but lost when I moved a few years ago. Happy to have found this one!

Amazing recipe--Quick easy and very buttery. I had to add a little additional flour to make the dough the correct consistency. This will be part of my holiday cookies next year.
