A cookie press is used to pipe out long strips of dough, upon which are placed squares of Hershey bars. This is then covered with another strip of dough, to create chocolate-filled cookie pillows.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup softened margarine

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 8 Hershey bars

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 375 F. Blend together margarine, sugar and vanilla. Beat in egg. Add flour. Beat until well blended. Using a cookie press and the bar attachment, fill the cookie press with dough. Press half of the dough onto ungreased cookie sheets with the ridge side down. Break candy into individual pieces. Place on dough spacing them evenly. Cover with strips of dough with the ridge side up. Score lightly between candy pieces. Bake 12-13 minutes or until lightly brown on edges.

I started making these cookies when Hershey bars broke into square pieces. These are great made with your favorite flavor Andes mints. I cut them in half.

These cookies are delicious. The first batch I made on a cool pan as directed. The second batch I made on a hot pan. I didn't notice any difference. The third batch I just sprinkled chocolate and butterscotch chips on top of a single layer cookie. They came out great.

OMG these cookies are addictive! I dont have a bar plate for my press so I used the "abstract" plate. The first batch I made as a trial batch I used 1/2 a piece of chocolate. They were okay but when I made my second batch I used a full piece and they were perfect. I put my baking sheets in the freezer before each batch and used parchment paper just incase the chocolate overflowed like some reviews said. I didnt have a problem though. I will definitely be making about 3 more batches of these. I didnt get 72 cookies with my attatchment. I got about 24.
