Yummy chocolate cookie coated with powdered sugar. When it bakes, the cookie crackles all over, leaving dark brown cracks in the otherwise white cookie. Very pretty!
Makes about 721/2 cup vegetable oil
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup confectioner's sugar
Stir together oil, chocolate and granulated sugar. Blend in one egg at a time until well
mixed. Add vanilla. Stir flour, baking powder, and salt into oil mixture. Chill several hours or overnight. Pre-heat oven to 350 F. Drop teaspoonfuls of dough into confectioner's sugar. Roll in sugar; shape into balls. Place about 2" apart on greased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes. Don't overbake!

I made these with the help of my boyfriend's 5 year old daughter this past weekend. We had a great time making them (I rolled them into balls, she rolled the balls in the powdered sugar). They came out great! I did adjust for high altitude by adding a 1/2 teaspoon more baking powder.

These have a nice crinkle on top. But, don't overbake as they will become little bricks. Keep the size relatively small or they lose the dainty look.
