Butternut Balls

Makes about 60

1 cup butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar, unsifted
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups ginely chopped nuts
powdered sugar glaze or melted chocolate
garnishes (jimmies, chopped nuts, flaked coconut, colored sugar, etc.)

Pre-heat oven to 350 F. Cream the butter and sugar together thoroughly. Stir in flour and salt; then nuts; mix well. Form the stiff dough into egg shapes about 1-1/2 inches long. Bake about 15 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

Spread half of cookie with powdered sugar glaze or melted chocolate. Sprinkle with coconut, chopped nuts, colored sugar or decors. Let sit until glaze is dry.

To make Powdered Sugar Glaze:
Combine 1 cup unsifted powdered sugar with 1-1/2 tablespoons water. Stir until smooth.

Would not make this again.
I'm disappointed with this cookie. I followed the recipe but there's something wrong with the texture. I thought I did it wrong on the first batch so I made 3 more batches and all of them came so bad. It's so dry and crumbly :( one star

I just made this cookies and they are wonderful! I love cookies made with powdered sugar - the texture is always great. These are simple cookies, yet truly yummy. I love them with the coconut! five stars
