Would make this again.
Definately a polish tradition. Never have used 14 egg yolks. Wow! that is quite a bit! 1/2 pint sour cream, 3 egg yolks, water and flour. Work like noodle dough. This is for a single batch. Double batch will fill up a clothes basket. 5 stars

These are a tradtion in my family. My grandmother always made them for the holidays. Now I am continuing the tradition. The family always enjoys this special treat that is a part of our Polish heritage. 4 stars

Been a tradition at my house since my oldest sister was a kid! My Grandmother is from Poland, and I've just carried on with it. Anyway, I add whiskey to the mix. To give them a little more taste. No sour cream. When I asked my mom for her recipe she actually told me to use the cruller recipe in her old cook book, and to just add whiskey instead of water. :) Sure makes a difference!!!!

Oh and if your worried about alcohol, it cooks off (except some of the taste) when your frying these.
5 stars

If you want this to turn out with the right flaver you must fry the pastry in lard or it will not have any taste. I learned to make these from grandmothers who came here from Poland.
