These cookie bars are delicious, but I agree with Sara. They stuck to the pan and I had to pry them out with a spatula. They were crumbly and fell apart. I used unsalted butter and an aluminum pan. Don't know if that contributed to the result. This recipe is in my Fannie Farmer cookbook. 4 stars

Made them again last night. Everyone loved them. They never stick so I don't know what happened to Sara??? It is a Christmas must in my family...but anytime is great. This is an easy one for the men that wish to impress the family. 5 stars

I had read the reviews before making these and was excited about them. I am so disappointed. They are just kind of boring.
I baked these 20 minutes and would have left them in longer but the top was starting to brown. After I took them out and flipped them onto the rack they just stuck to the pan. I couldn't get them out and had to turn them back over and use a spatula to get them out.
The taste of these is just average. I used almonds and added almond extract to boost the flavor.
All in all I think these Noels are rather dull although very easy to make. Maybe I did something wrong. 3 stars
