2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 cup snipped dates
1 cup shredded coconut
sugar for rolling
Beat eggs well, then add sugar gradually while
beating until fluffy. Stir in remaining ingredients and turn into ungreased 2-quart casserole. Bake in preheated 350 oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and stir well with wooden spoon. Cool, form into small balls, and roll in additional sugar. Cool throughly.

Would make this again.
I made these cookies and loved them. The trick is not to bake them quite so long. The dough needs to be gooey and not hard. Bake for about 23 minutes. Let the cookie mix cool before you try to form it into balls. Flavor is terrific! 5 stars

My mother made these for my wedding in 1998. Everyone raved over them, but she/we lost the recipe for several years. I am so glad I found it again on the web. These are so tasty and different. Love them!! 5 stars
