Sand Art Brownies

5/8 cup of all purpose flour
3/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup vanilla chips
1/2 cup walnuts

Mix the first flour and salt together and put into the bottom of a quart jar. Layer the rest of the ingredients in the order they are given.

Attach a tag with the following directions to the jar:
1) Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9x9 pan.
2) Pour contents of jar in a large bowl and mix well.
3) Stir in 1 tsp vanilla, 2/3 cup of oil, and 3 eggs. Beat until just combined.
4) Pour batter into pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Note: Cover the top of the jar with a pretty fabric and print a fancy tag to tie around the top. They make very personal and attractive gifts.

I made these as a cheap gift for my moms club. Little did I know, moms are suckers for homemade gifts! They all loved how cute the jars looked. I had to try the recipie out too and it's fantastic. I know what the moms club is getting next year! I'll have to teach the kids how to say "more brownies, please" five stars

I made these to give out as Christmas gift, but when I made them myself they came out really gooey. I used the right amount of everything, and they still didn't come out quite right. Cooked them a little longer and ended up over baking them, but hey, they still taste yummy! three stars

I tried this recipe last year for the girls at the office and it was a big hit. I didn't know how good they were until I made mine. On a rating of 1 to 5 I give it a 10. Everyone wanted the recipe. five stars

I loved these!! I first ran into them in '96 when I was selling Tupperware, we used to put them in the spaghetti keeper. They were always awesome and made a LOT of them for gifts for special hostesses, never heard a complaint, everyone seemed to love them! Made the brownies myself a few times too and my family always gobble them up :) five stars
