What holds these cookies together. My sister tried them and they fell apart.

These came out pretty good and they were most definitely easy and quick! I added an extra half cup of powdered sugar and imitation butter flavor. I also used granola instead of nuts. Very tasty!

I have made a similar recipe and this was the closest to it that I could find. What I do with any butter cookie recipe is I add in only as much flour as I need, then no extra butter needed. I add by the 1/2 cup.
However, I am a cook/baker that cooks by taste and smell, not just by recipe, so as I add ingredients, I taste the dough to make sure that it not just looks right, but tastes right too. With most cookies, the dough should taste similar, but not exactly, like the final product. That will tell you if you have enough of one ingredient, on missing something for the final result. Over all though, I know this to be a good basic butter cookie recipe, one that can easily be built upon.
