5 eggs, well beaten
1 lb sugar, white or brown
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
Preheat oven to 300F. Beat together the eggs and sugar. Add baking soda and mix thoroughly. Add spices, vanilla, and flour. Drop onto a well greased cookie sheet and bake until cookies are medium brown.

Would make this again.
These cookies take a long time to cook at 300 deg. I kicked it up to 325, and sprinkled a little sugar on the dough before baking. Great cookies! 4 stars
