2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Topping:
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sour cream
Sift together dry ingredients. Cream brown sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Cream again.
Add dry ingredients. Mix till blended. Form into 1 inch balls, make a depression in center, place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Mix together topping ingredients. Place topping in depressions. Bake at 350F for 12-14 minutes.

Really liked this cookie alot. This will be part of my cookie list this year for Christmas. The only thing I did differently was add 1/2 tsp of cinnamon since another recipe I that was similar added it.

Baked them for Thanksgiving and they were a hit. I'll probably replace these cookies for Thumbprints as they are easier to make and taste just as good. Will bake some for Christmas, too!

Excellent! Everybody in my family loved them and I get requests for them every Thanksgiving. A great "fall" time cookie. Probably best for mature tastes.

Would make this again.
Very good. A nice change from chocolate chip, oatmeal, or peanut butter cookies. Simple to make but I think they are for more mature taste buds. A+.
