1/2 cup shortening
1 2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/3 cup milk
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, and milk. Stir in melted chocolate. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually stir into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. Chill 2-3 hours. Preheat oven to 350 F. Form into 1" balls. Roll in powdered sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet 2-3" apart. Bake 15 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool.

Would not make this again.
These were the worst cookies that I have ever made! They looked awful and tasted not so great either. I have never thrown out a batch of cookies before, but I couldn't get these in the compost bin fast enough.

I'm not sure I'd make these again. They weren't very chocolatey and I found the dough to be very sticky! My kids did enjoy rolling them around in the powdered sugar!

These cookies were great and it made way more than it says. I did some rolled in icing sugar, but they were better and prettier when I rolled them in crushed almonds. A definite make again recipe!

VERY VERY good! I made them for a Christmas party and EVERYONE loved them! I ate the first batch (sort of) all by myself! :P
